Lee Min Woo (born July 28, 1979) is a backup-singer and member of the Korean boy band Shinhwa. Lee was the fourth member picked for the group. As part of Shinhwa, he has recorded nine studio albums as a vocalist and a rapper. Though he left the group's management company in early 2007, Lee has stated that he is still part of Shinhwa and that the band will never disband.
Lee first started his solo act in 2003 when his band was on hiatus. He has since released three successful studio albums. As a solo artist, Lee changed his stage name to M. Aside from singing, Lee has also appeared in Korean television dramas and movies, with and without his bandmates. Throughout his career with Shinhwa, Lee has change his looks along with his bandmates. From having a cute image in the early days and transitioning to various looks, Lee and his bandmates never lost their strong fanbase.
Personal life
Throughout his career, Lee has been matched with various girls by his fans. Throughout his early career, Lee was rumour to be dating Kim Eugene, former member of the now defunct girl band S.E.S.. Though the two as a "couple" were popular among fans, Lee and Kim stated that they have never dated and have always remained just friends. Lee was also paired with popstar sensation and former member of the girl band Fin.K.L, Lee Hyori. However, they have never started a relationship either.
Lee and actress Shin Ae began a relationship in early 2004, receiving much publicity on- and offline (both negative and positive). Though the two never officially stated that they were a couple, they didn't deny it either and were labeled as the entertainment world's "unofficial couple." Their relationship became a hot topic over the internet when the two were seen wearing "couple rings." Rumours of Lee proposing to Shin Ae became a debate. The relationship is said to have lasted for a year. Other sorces have said they dated before 2004, with a relationship that lasted for 2 years and five months, with the couple breaking up in the summer of 2005.
