Mike Songs
At my age (73), the voice is beginning to crack around the edges a little and I'll apologize in advance for that... still, I do love to sing and everyone here has been so non-judgemental that I'm encouraged to offer a few more songs. Whatever I'm able to sing are my own versions of the songs, so I may take a few liberties here and there. especially with the phrasing. I hope you'll enjoy a few of these very simple arrangements of my favorite oldies.

Where Have All The Flowers Gone.mp3
This is dedicated to my dear online friend Elbaroda and his wife Yolie in Sydney, Australia. I think, more than ever, the lyrics speak to us all......

You Were Always On My Mind.mp3
I apologize for the background track. It sputters a little getting started...Pehaps I'll re-record it, but I'll let it go for now. Lots of snippers have already done this one, hope one more doesn't hurt... the lyrics sure speak to me for one time in my life.

Time In A Bottle.mp3
Jim Croce was only 30 years old when he died in a small plane crash in 1973. Three months after his death, Time In A Bottle became a #1 hit single. It's still a favorite for many us...We miss you Jim.

Dust In The Wind.mp3
The band Kansas was one of my favorites back in the late 70's (and they are still kicking it today :)) This year they are celebrating the 30th anniversay when this song went Gold back in 1978. In 2005 they hit Gold on it again online with over 1 million downloads. For the guitar background, I'm using a variation of something called the "Travis Pick" named after Merle Travis, an old time classic country star.
